September 18-22

MAP testing went well, especially for their first time taking the test. I will use data from the tests to formulate reading and math groups and drive my instruction to meet the individual needs of each student. Students will take the test again in the Spring where we should see significant growth from the beginning of the year. Although we finished MAP testing, we are still DRA testing. This test is administered to each student individually; therefore it takes a little longer.

We have logged onto most of the websites we will use throughout the year. Please do not allow students to complete classwork at home. They will have enough time in class to complete all assignments. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Hopefully you will be able to join us for Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A on Monday, September 18th from 5-7:30pm. Most faculty and staff members will drop in throughout the evening. Mention that you are with Killian and a portion of the sale goes back to the school. See you there!

I am excited about our first field study to EdVenture Children's Museum on Thursday, September 28th! I will send a note the day before the trip as a reminder if you signed up to send your child's lunch. We will eat a snack before we leave and eat lunch when we return.

Please consider attending the Killian Family Fun Day on Saturday, September 30th. You should have received a flier about this event. This will be a fun time for us all to enjoy games and activities with our Killian Families.
