Week of January 15-19

Please encourage your child to come to school ready to learn and pay attention during instruction. I have noticed that the students who are not paying attention during instructional time are the students who are not completing their classwork assignments and independent activities. Some classwork assignments are factored into the grades for the nine weeks. Hopefully a little encouragement from you will help them push through the assignments. Grades are updated in Parent Portal by Tuesday night for the previous week. Please let me know if you have any questions concerning grades or assignments.

Remember there is NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 15, 2018 for MLK, Jr. Day. School will resume on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 7:30am.

Ms. Rana joins us starting Tuesday, January 16th. She is in her final semester of internship at USC and will be with us daily. She will be in the classroom observing, co-teaching and teaching her own lessons. She will also have two weeks of full time teaching. During this time, she will be in charge of all teaching responsibilities. I will be here to assist but I will be in and out of the class.

Tuesday, January 17th is Chick-fil-A Spirit Night. Please come out between 5-7:30 to the Chick-fil-A on Killian Road. This is a great opportunity to join mix and mingle with your Killian Family while enjoying a great meal. Don't forget to tell them you are will Killian. See you there!

We will dismiss Friday, January 19th at 11:30am. Please let me know if your child's transportation will be different on this day.

I will be out of town for professional development Thursday and Friday, January 25-26. A substitute will be in the class along with Ms. Rana. I know the students will be on their best behavior while I am away.
