Week of October 17-21

We have had a few weeks of adjusting. With the hurricane, early dismissal and a student holiday, we are ready to begin a full week. We will be back on schedule this week, especially with our homework. The reading log will be issued on Monday and due on next Monday. The STAR assignments are due on Thursdays. Please be reminded that all paperwork for the STAR assignments should be stapled/paper clipped together and turned in on Thursdays. (I do not want those assignments each day.) Math homework is due the next day. Reading/spelling tests are on Thursdays. If you have something for me (note, doctor's excuse, etc.) please ask your child to give it to me or send me an email indicating that it is in the folder. If you have any questions, please let me know. I truly appreciate your cooperation and dedication to your child's education.

The book fair begins Tuesday, October 18th. This is an excellent opportunity to buy books for your child while supporting the school. If you would like for your child to purchase books at the book fair, please send the money in an envelope with the following: book fair, student's name, my name, and the amount enclosed. (ex. Book Fair, Jalen Watson, Ms. Watson's Class, $20) I will make sure your child visits the book fair to make his/her selection.

Literacy Night is Thursday, October 20th from 6-7:30pm. This will be a night filled with exciting and engaging reading/literacy activities for you and your child. A form was sent home last week. Please return the bottom portion indicating how many from your family will be attending. You will also be able to visit the book fair during this time.

The end of the nine weeks is Thursday! Report cards will be issued the following week, Thursday, October 27th.
UPDATE: The end of the nine weeks is Friday, October 21st. Report cards will be issued November 3rd.
