Week of March 27-31st

We had a busy week of teaching and learning! We are SO PROUD of most students for increasing their reading MAP score and ALL students for increasing their math MAP score. WAY TO GO!!! We appreciate all your help and support at home. We are now in our last nine weeks of school and we still have more to learn in preparation for third grade.

We enjoyed an exciting experience at the Kroger field study on Friday. We had a tour of the various departments and concluded with milk and cookies. If you have not already been, please stop by and support one of our community partners. I am sure they will have what you need.

I really enjoyed starting the creation of our figurative language books this week. So far we learned about rhyme, similes, birds and mammals. Both the students and I have enjoyed becoming real life authors. Next week we will continue to work on our books. We hope to include onomatopoeia, alliteration, reptiles and amphibians.
