Week of September 3-7th

This week, we will continue with DRA testing. We will use the data from DRA and MAP testing to form reading groups specialized for each student.

Students will begin taking reading books home this week. Please make sure they return the book daily in order to use it for class assignments. Vocabulary homework is usually assigned on Mondays and due on Thursdays. Students may use the homework journal to complete assignments and turn the notebook in on Thursdays.

Please plan to join us for Open House on Thursday, September 6th from 6-7:30. Information will be shared about classroom procedures and expectations as well as curriculum.

Our first First Friday breakfast is Friday, September 7th. You may return the gold sheet sent home last Thursday indicating how many guests are planning to attend. Friday is also our first Parent Academy. Click here  for more details.

A field trip form went home Thursday in the blue communication folders. Included on the form was a list of all trips for the year with the cost. The field trips have been added to your child's account and may be paid through Parent Portal. Please return the completed form in your child's folder. Forms and payment should be in by September 17th.

Don't forget to email me at fwatson@richland2.org so that I may have your most current email address for communications.
