We are excited about having your child in second grade this year. We have lots of engaging learning experiences planned. Our first few days have have been great as we learn routines and procedures. We will continue to review the rules and procedures as we get started with curriculum.
You should have received some information in your child's blue folder that should be either returned to school or kept at home. That folder will usually go home on Thursdays and due back on Fridays, or the next day. Here is a copy of the Beginning of the Year letter. It has "need to know" information about the classroom including sharing, snacks, agendas, homework, etc.
Homework will officially begin on Monday, which will be in a green folder. Please return this folder daily. Reading and vocabulary assessments will be on Thursdays.
Field trip permission forms went home on Friday in the blue folder. We have listed all of the field trips for the year and the cost. You may pay online via Parent Portal. If you plan to chaperone, you may pay for your admission once we get to the location. (The cost is indicated on the form.) We encourage you to make your online payment as well as sign and return the permission form by September 8th. If you have any questions, please let us know.
